MORRICONE TRIBUTE - Ecstasy of Gold【HQ】

Film composer Ennio Morricone conducts the Munich Philharmonie orchestra in a 2004 performance of "The Ecstasy of Gold" from the Sergio Leone film "The Good The Bad and The Ugly."

The opening scene is from a Metallica concert in Copenhagen. In an homage to Morricone, during its 2009 tour the band usually opened with a film clip of the classic cemetery scene from the movie. It then would perform its own cover of "The Ecstasy of Gold." The music I used for the opening sequence is the Bandini remix.

I also used clips from a 1995 BBC documentary about the Academy Award-winning composer-conductor, who has scored more than 300 films but is most famous for his early collaboration with legendary Italian film director Sergio Leone. Also included is a clip from the 2008 Academy Awards ceremony at which Morricone is presented with a honorary Oscar by Clint Eastwood, star of "The Good The Bad and The Ugly." Ironically, it was the first time the two had met in over 40 years.

I synchronized the concert performance with the cemetery scene from the movie using a split screen.

have been a youtube junkie for years now..this is one of the best clips of anything i've watched..split screen idea was amazing,and what a performance from that woman susanna rigacci..Mr, Morricone is a genuis..what a god given talent he has to put together such musical scores as this one,where do you even start.???...amazing..fantastic­..unreal..awesome..a talent beyond measure..his music is not only for the ear,but the mind also,as it inspires images...totally and utterly blown away by it..

@chrisam99x Interestingly, you will note that the movie footage is flip-flopped. A subtle change, for sure. But the first time I posted this in its original form YouTube picked up on my use of the footage and blocked/banned it. Flip-flopping the film somehow got around this.
