Real Indonesians say goodbye and good riddance to the Dutch. They treated Indonesian people like 2nd class citizens in their own country! Im Scottish married to an Indonesian woman. We know what it was like to have some foreigner trying to rule us, we didn't allow it to happen and kicked them out. Respect Indonesia for doing the same. Forget the emotional music and what "you think" it was like all those years ago..it's better now. Hey if you dont beleive me, ask an Indonesian citizen!

people have to understand yes we were treated like shit by the dutch but look at indonesia now its stinky, dirty with a very corrupt government. in indonesia 13% of the people live below the poverty line because of this and it makes me sad how indonesia turned into this

such is the price of freedom. It's a wonderful city if you're a Dutchmen, or working for the Dutch. Of course there is a lot less traffic back then. Because if you are a commoner, chances are you won't be driving anything, let alone own anything.

@rickdddm real man won't ask for their freedom. they fight for it. save that words inside your brain brother. i hope it could give you better perspective when you see why indonesian fighting for their freedom. it's a natural calling for human to seek the comfort when they feel so un-comfort, sadly netherland was the one who give the indonesian very uncomfort situations. treating the native citizens equall with dog. i don't think it's pretty delicious things to do
