Erik Hartemink's new Minq FWD recumbent bike with detachable lawn-chair seat. This appeared to be the first ride by a recumbent fan -- and he didn't have any trouble with the odd geometry.

  • Recumbents can climb hills and even mountains. They just do it a little slower and in way more comfort.

  • I know that many recumbents can, as I am a recumbent cyclist. What I meant to ask is, can this particular recumbent climb hills. Sorry for the confusion.

  • @DustinPurplePirate no they cannot climb mountains cos they are front wheel drive, which there is no traction on a steep side why people keep saying this!

  • that totally sucks!

carry some neosporin, when your lawn chair legs hit the pavement on a fast turn you are going down hard!

  • everytime i see one of these i think to myself man that guy is lazy

  • You get used to the height of them. The HUGE comfort improvement is worth the time it takes to get used to the height.

FYI - Not all recumbents are the same. High racer Recumbents like Bacchetta are higher than car driver height.

  • but can it climb hills?

  • Not bad, I like the idea of what is shown at "recunbent bike test" more. Most recumbents seem too low and too recumbent for my taste.
