In this video we show you a little about the Zakuri knives we carry. Often times, I have customers ask me about these knives... the profile, grind, fit and finish, etc. My hope is that this video will help you get a better sense of what these knives are like. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

You can find the Zakuri knives here on our website:

  • You said that most of the handles have been made to order for you. Does that mean they're for average western size hands? My wife is a petite Chinese lady & so the handles may be too large for her. But then I'm your typical westerner but not with hands that are too large. How important is it to get the handle size right for home cooking applications and which of those knives would you recommend as the 'work horse'? My guess is the one second from the right on screen.

  • @BelloBudo007 What i meant by that is that zakuri normally comes with the walnut handles and plastic ferrules. I prefer octagonal handles with real buffalo horn, so we often have ho handles put on. Zakuri, as a brand, tends to put on large handles because thats what they feel gives the best balance. Some are a bit large, but i have found them to be comfortable. As for a work horse, the 240mm Blue #1 Wa-Gyuto is a great knife.

  • @JKnifeImports - I'm sorry my misunderstanding. Thanks for the clarification.

Just to be sure, the '240mm Blue #1 Wa-Gyuto' that you recommend, is that the 3rd knife from left on the screen?

  • @BelloBudo007 no worries at all... i'm glad you asked. The one i'm talking about would be the 5th one from the left in the video (so right in the middle pretty much).

  • do you ship to Mexico??

  • @Jagonomic yup... shoot me an e-mail and i can explain more about our international order process

  • @satancross I guess its just habit... knife makers in Japan almost always use mm instead of cm when talking about knife lengths

  • why 240 mm instead of 24 cm? Just wondering.. Nice video!
