  • @bindu1987 I have answered this in the comments below. I see you are in India. A similar product would be Ghee.

    Shortening is any fat that is solid at room temperature and is required to make pastry. Just give it a google! KtC

  • @amnch07 Butter. Doesn't matter salt/ non-salt. Time to google 'pie pastry'! All the info is there! cheers. KtC

  • @kooktocook can it be margarine and if not unsalted or salted butter?

  • @amnch07 No it has to be solid fat. Just use butter as a substitute. Shortening is available, ask your grocer. KtC
