You could look it up - Celia Maybaum, owner of Max's in Long Branch, is by official proclamation of the New Jersey Legislature the Hot Dog Queen of the Jersey Shore. The legendary hot dog stand was one of five first-day stops on our holiday Munch tour. (Video by Pete Genovese).

I made the mistake of bumping into her (she into me actually but whos counting) at the movie theater in Eatontown. She immediately erupted with the free-flow haltering "Dont you know who I am"? No, i said after my pardon me. Perhaps its from half a century of consuming all those hot dogs but shes forever preserved a negative opinion in this Windmill fans mind.

She's got ya all fooled. She's a RABID homophobe and a cankerous old bitch who glowers at and insults customers. This someone you wanna give money to?

Great restaurant. I used to live in Eatontown and every Saturday in the summer after leaving the beach we would stop at Max's for a late lunch. The best hot dogs period. Mrs. Max is a lovely person. She would always say hello to us. I live in Chicago now and wish we had a Max's here.
