Find out how UK aid is changing lives at http://www.dfid.gov.uk/changinglives

Katumi Hussein's brave determination to get an education and change her life took her on a journey from hardship and danger to a hopeful future and a way out of poverty.

It was a journey made possible by a bursary programme run by Camfed and supported by UK aid, which meant she is able able to go to school and encourage other girls to do the same.

UK aid has helped provide a complete package of support - including school fees, uniforms and books - to more than 12,000 girls in Ghana like Katumi.
