Video walkthrough of my rooted Barnes and Noble Nook Simple Touch.
Device sports a 800MHz OMAP3 processor with 2GB of internal storage and an SD card slot.

The most impressive feature of this device is not only that it has a pearl e-ink display, but that it also comes with an underlying Android Operating system.

Once rooted, the device has nearly unlimited reading potential with the inclusion of access to the nearly endless amount of Android applications available on the market place.

Note: Videos contents has been altered, contrast and saturation has been changed for better viewing; and the overall speed of the video has been increased by 150 to 200% to ensure that as much content as possible is covered in the shortest amount of time.

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DEVICE

  • @zxenon555

you cant plug a usb generic keyboard into it but theres a great touch screen keyboard

  • @BrysonKlipfel The point is you can accomplish all of these things on such a simple device. So it's actually quite genius.

  • @BrysonKlipfel Not that stupid actually. If you want a colour tablet, then sure, get a colour tablet. What if you want an ereader that doesn't hurt your eyes after a few hours and need charging every day? If you can find a good reason not to turn a Nook Touch into an Android Tablet, I'd understand, but you can't, can you?

  • Question: have you tried it with IRC, and how does it work with that? I was going to root it to use AndroIRC on it or somethin'. E-Ink+reading IRC = niceness.

    Thanks in advance and such.

  • The music app Is for nook color and nook1st gen

  • Hello, I got a question, ¿can you connect a USB generic keyboard to the Nook? You should use a USB OTG adapter cord (miniUSB to female host USB) or something like that. If you have the elements, can you try if it works? Thanks!

  • @ibex333 I'm still on vacation till Monday. Check your PM's.

  • @Tyclo

Please contact me when you get back from vacation. I am trying to root my recently bought Nook STR but I am stuck at the step where they want you to use ADB. The guide is simple up to this point.

  • Nice vid and really dope music!

  • I think when you add that much shit to a nook EREADER it's stupid

If you what to run google or play games get a tablet not a nook simple touch ereader
