Grid 10 Tablet Multimedia Capability Demo - http://www.netbooknews.com - We are taking a look at the multimedia capability of the Grid 10 Tablet running Grid OS
@arzo2000 thing is that this uses android kernel.. so its basically android just that it looks completely different.. its got all the android functions!
@hedarfoota i think you have to remeber that the tablet market is smaller than like 50 million units right now whilst the pc market is probably in the billions right now. i think the tablet market is very insignificant right now. if tablets are the next major form of personal computer, then i can tell you that people will rather buy windows than android when it comes to doing any form of work on a computer. windows 8 tablets will be compeitive on price with android and ios.
@kahuna3901 android oems dont have to pay anything to use android but paying royalties to ms oracle and motorola is nothing compared to what they have to pay microsoft to use their os...and ofcourse windows will have a bigger market share than ios because it will run on desktops laptops and tablets..but i dont think the windows 8 tablet market share can beat ios and android..
@hedarfoota ideally android is free, however you are aware that to make android device from software perspective its not actually free. its like google doesnt charge but companies like apple, microsoft and oracle charge license fees to the big companies like htc, samsung etc. they still pay a considerable license for android because patent infringments. just search netmarketshare for the figures. wp7 is universally predicted to be bigger than ios in 4 years.
one more thing..tablet manufacturers get android for free they dont have to pay a single dollar to get android on their devices but microsoft will charge device manufacturers per device..lets say around $100 per table thats what laptop manufacturers pay for windows...so why will tablet manufacturers pay $100 when they can get android for free??
@kahuna3901 windows 7 sold 300 million copies and ios devices sold more than 220 million units...how is that 4%??
and im pretty sure people wont be buying windows 8 tables as much as they would buy on pcs...because right now when people think about tablet they think ipad..windows will struggle a lot to get a small chunk of tablet market share..just look at wp7
@hedarfoota i dont know, the problem with android, web os and blackberry os on tablets is that they are not household names. apple is a house hold name and it certainly gets the job done. you have to remeber that allready windows is on near 90% of all computers in the world. if a consumer see's a windows 8 tablet they allready know that they can trust the product because they have heard of windows before. remeber windows 7 has taken 30 percent of the market. ios is at like 4%
