While many would argue that this was a mediocre telling of the epic book, I would counter that by saying that, just this fight scene alone, elevates the movie to a praiseworthy level. Granted, the first third of this fight isn't done with swords... but when the swords do come out.... it's on. It seems obvious to me that a ton of swordplay choreography and training was utilized here. Eric Bana and Brad Pitt really look like they know what they're doing. And the sound design and editing is, frankly... scary. You keep waiting for someone to graze someone else with their blade. All in all, this is a very tense, even difficult fight to watch. Enjoy.

  • I think everyone forgets that Achilles is the villian in this movie and that Hector is the "hero" just trying to protect his brother and his land....which is why its such a sad scene.

  • Fuck Honor. ARCHERS!

  • Say what you will about the movie, fantastic scene, especially in the age of three-frame cuts and incomprehensibility which become the norm these days. Who choreographed this?

  • love this scene .

  • I really, really hated Paris in this movie. I haven't read the Iliad, but I hope he wasn't such a little bitch in it.

  • HORRIBLE SCENE

He could have easily slashed his arm at 3:14

  • @thethirdman1018 My sentiments exactly ;)

  • @source1zero Good idea, I mean, how hard could it really have been to accurately represent a conflict which spanned, in the canon, 10 years, with hundreds of characters and events, into a 2 hour film? Get your act together, Petersen!

  • man! how old was brad pitt in this film? great shape!
