I think you are wrong... difference betwee 2.0 and 1.0 is not that big. I think you cant see any difference at performance at all. But if you have crossfire there might be slight dropp down with speed.

But running AGP 8x cards in a 4x slot had issues. I can attest to that. I haven't had issues using a current NV generation on a very early PCIe bus though. Just my experience.

yes the pci express is holding it back. get pci-e 2.0 your running 1.0 thats only half of what it can do.

yes because if your using a pci express 1.0, your getting half the power of a pci express2.0 slot

i have a 8600GT which somehow only works with 1x the pci express bandwidth and its a HUGE differnce between 1x and 16x i can imagine that this is less with "8x" and 16x but still im sure that it has a differnce otherwise pcie 2.0 wouldnt excist
