although my time is too worthy to spend it to educate you, here are only a few facts for you: 1) even Greeks praised Cyrus (Xenophon in Cyropedia and Herodotus in Histories). Maybe you know that Persians and Greeks war in war. The Greeks were not friends of Persians. Therefore there were NOT forced to praise Cyrus. 2) Bible in the Old Testament praises Cyrus (Isaiah, Ezra)

Seems that you know the history very well, so I can ask you my questions. One of them is HOW do we know all that cool stuff happened in history? Is there much more information than what the kings claim left? Let me give you an example: Our dear president claims all the coolest stuff are happening now, no poverty, no inequality, everything. Media is not allowed to write anything against the situation. What would people find in 3000 about our country if there was nothing like internet?

payamr213, if you would bother to read the history, you would learn that the question is not WHY empires have been created but BY WHICH METHODES they were built. some were built based on principles of the dignity of mankind. Persian Empire never forced the conquered people to leave their belief or their language or culture. They never killed civilians. others such as arab islamic conquers and mongols destroyed cities and villages, killed and raped. thats the significant difference.
