LYRICS

iphone you phone glue-it-to-my-face-phone
i'll never be alone again
blackberry, in the loop, gives me all the latest poop
i'll never be alone again

facebook, ibook, myspace, please look
i'll never be alone again
a t & t-mo, gimme stuff that's free so
i'll never be alone again

makes me feel my robot roots
back when we were all machines
makes me feel my robot roots
back when we were all

i-podded bipeds, shoot me up my techno meds
i'll never be alone again
i need so much your shuffle classic nano touch
i'll never be alone again

mini-mac, air pro; white, black, day-glo
i'll never be alone again
call of duty, total war, rise of nations, solitaire
i'll never be alone

makes me feel my robot roots... baby, don't leave my laptop unplugged
i'll never be alone again
upgrade my plan, i'll take everything i can
i'll never be alone (never be alone)

backed up junk mail, drugs porn for sale
i'll never be alone again
twitter flicker blog me, virtually flog me
i'll never be alone again

text me, sext me, don't need to be next to me
i'll never be alone again
wear me, bare me, photoshop and share me
i'll never be alone

makes me feel my robot roots...

  • Thanks guys! This is just great. Going to play it for my music classes at school! Hope things are well with you!

  • @kmeister109 That's fantastic! One of our strong hopes is that teachers will use the video/song to spark discussion with their students. Among others, the issues around cyberbullying are an important part of all this. Please do let us know how it goes, how your students respond. We'd love to know.

  • I loved this! (watched on my iPhone :-)

  • @JimKrause - Thank you, Jim! So I guess it worked well on the small screen? We haven't seen it that way yet. Cindy did all the editing on iMovie on her Mac laptop. Put in SO many hours of work learning the software and doing the work.

  • I am blown away!! Cindy and Grey were fabulous as single performers, but you two are an awesome pair!

  • @RedlemonAH Thank you so much! This is our first venture in music video, and our first song release as a single.

  • ahh, heard 'if you say yes' on local radio in bloomington (wfhb) and it encouraged me so i went to check out your other music. this song and video are hilarious (so true...) -- thank you for making such great music!

  • Well, mostly because that's exactly what Grey sleepily said upon being woken by a musical barrage from the radio. You'll have to find your own way into the variety of ways it can be understood. Have fun!

  • I don't get why it's "BACK when we were all machines" why back?

  • Haha! I love the seaweed part! Great job! ;-)

  • Thanks for the comment! We saw the F of the Cs video after we'd made our song/video, and enjoyed it. Solitaire was just one of the many games we found that one can play online -and since we wanted to pose the question about alone-ess, the name of the game added a little extra something to the question (which you answered in your own way!).

  • Very good—I was going to ask if you'd seen the FotC song "The Humans are Dead" but I guess you have... XD

The lyrics and arrangement are masterfully done!

...though solitaire really doesn't imply never being alone again...

  • @Paulpfaff Wow, what an amazing observation by your daughter! I wonder if she will share the video with her friends and have any conversations with them about this topic (of course, we all have to be on our computers/'smart'phones to watch it :( ). Thanks so much for sharing this!

  • my 11 year old daughter says "this is about how everything has changed with technology. and when they were little they had to entertain themseleves, like they were there own machines. and now the people are more high tech, but they are more alone, because they're too focused on their phones and games and stuff to smell the roses." Wow - powerful song. Time to turn off the computer and enjoy the evening ...

  • @abstractionmusic Thanks for the comment - so glad you found it and like it! A big Carly admirer, too, so appreciate the link.
