Nobody ever seen in NBA an individual's presentation like the one Greg received in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals: the Jazz Bear is coming down from the sky, fireworks, noise and lights happen, cheerleaders dancing to introduce one of the finest playoff games of Ostertag.

Statistical info:

-1st bucket of the game. Is that enough? Not so fast dude:
-Greg collected 15 rebounds totaly in 34 minutes of action. He outrebounded even Denis Rodman, who grabbed only 7!
-7 offensive rebounds, mostly rebounds of His own missed shots.
-managed not to be fouled out.

Useful Techniques learned in this game:

-the "no-jump rebound" (in fact his hands were long enough to reach the sky, so there's no need to jump)
-the belly (not chest) bump he innovated at a celebration with number 32 of the Jazz squad (miss his name...)
-the "hmi-anas" step (great footwork) after hitting one of his free throws (1:37).
-some rare disco-dancing moves (after a defensive board at 3:45)

  • Ostertag probably did the best out of all the Jazz players that night, 15 rebounds and 13 points, the only starter who shot over 50 percent from the floor, and 3 blocks.

  • He was a disco dancer on that night (and a sweet romancer!)...

  • this guy is trying to make an NBA comeback. just read up on it on pro basketball talk.

  • I play ball with Gregs nephew his name is Craig Ostertag

  • Greg Ostertag and that team were so good. If not for Michael Jordan the Jazz would've won a Finals.

  • Utah LOST this game, if you know what I mean. Greg physically dominated Luc Longley all night, but it's not like Longley was as athletically gifted as Shaq in his 20's.

  • not to mention this was Jordan's flu game where he put up 39 and led a big comeback......NO one will EVER top MJ

  • Man oh man Bill Walton can suck it! That year and the year before when the bulls played the sonics, all he did was drool over Shawn Kemp and Karl Malone in both the finals. He just hated the Bulls and treated Jordan as if he pailed in comparison to those guys.

  • that wasn't no chest bump! That was a hip thrust ;x

  • with the help of stockton and malone
