The Suzuki SV650 is a straightforward middleweight V-twin all-rounder which proves you dont have to be boring to be practical. First launched back in 1999, the sv has and continues to be the default first big bike for many a rider.

  • @iamthefatstig Most rider's cannot use the power of their 1 litre bikes, or even their 600cc super bikes for that matter. In my experience 90% of them just want to say they have the power to win, in a straight line maybe. Get them on the bends and a good rider on a 250 can beat them. SV650 is an awesome bike, anyone that says overwise is probably a Noob. Havn't met an experienced rider yet that would say otherwise.

  • Not everyone needs a race bike with a number plate and head lights. You may be missing out on some of the other things that make riding bikes enjoyable.

  • awesome bike,i want one

  • @addys Amen to that, I bought one as my 1st bike, I have since de-restricted it back to it's full power, and my neighbour on his R1 can leave me on a long straight road, but in the twisty bits I can easily keep up, he's been riding for 20 years and says he feels faster on the SV on the twisty roads

  • Well done at Scarboro Adam, the KTM sounds awesome !

  • @addys 250's are unfair compared to 1000's, because we'll be talking to stroke, which means a high power-to-weight ratio, put some nice tires on em and you've got yourself a winner already.

  • @BiggNEO it is pronounced with a J for jiggle, just spelt Gixxer..well where im from atleast :)

  • @daylightdreamz: I've never heard it called a "gixxer" with a G sound like GIGA-BYTE. I've always heard it pronounced with a J sound like JIGGLE. Maybe it's different where you're from, but where I'm from, it's Jix-TER....not Gix-ER.

  • @BiggNEO Gixxer btw, not jixster

  • @salchipapa8000: It's "cool" because the GSX-R's are called JIXSTERS. It has a name that people like to say. The SV does not. It's "just" SV. Fully faired, they look almost the same. It's all in the name JIXSTER. PPl like it.

  • @addys sv650s is a great bike but if you live in the country where all the roads are straight sv650s is missing some power. For me sv1000s is the perfect bike for the money and its also much cheaper on insurance than any 600cc supersport. To bad they dont make them no more as I will be shoping for a new bike next year and the only choice of sv is 650. I wish suzuki would bring sv1000s back

  • @petter8999 GO FOR IT! I ride a 2002 model (think its pretty much the same when i look at pictures.)

my height is 196 cm and its a plesure to ride it.

-my brother, around the same height, doesn't like to sit on it, but he is not a fan of racing machines (so in this case its his taste of bikes ;)

    its a playfull machine!
