Fast Cars play "Tameside Girls" live in 1990.
The song was written by Stuart (as apposed to Steve) Murray in 1978, and was always a crowd favourite, it should have been on the Identity Parade compilation but the band fellout with the record label. The original can now be heard on "Coming...ready or not!" released by Detour Records UK in 2001.

  • Shit, I used to LOVE this band! I even played in a band that did support for them one time at Crewe & Alsager College around 1980 I think. Wasn't the guitarist called Craig Smith? I used to hear them at The Commercial in Stalybridge (coz I'm a Tameside Lad!) though I'm now living in Australia. Great to hear them again! Thanks for posting!
