Get Up and Give! North Texas Giving Day

Founded in 2009 by Communities Foundation of Texas, The Dallas Foundation and The Center for Nonprofit Management, DonorBridge is a free dynamic online resource that makes mutual connections between nonprofit organizations, donors and supporters. It makes gathering reliable information, making charitable gifts and addressing community needs easier, giving donors the power to give wisely. Since its founding, DonorBridge has infused North Texas nonprofits with more than $9 million.

One day every year, Communities Foundation of Texas presents DonorBridge's "North Texas Giving Day", which is a 12-hour period when every gift North Texans make to nonprofits on www.donorbridgeTX.org is matched. In 2010, the 2nd annual event, 7,900 North Texans donated to 450 of their favorite causes on Giving Day. Their donations, plus matching funds and prizes, resulted in an infusion of more than $5 million into the North Texas nonprofit community. This year, DonorBridge hopes to raise $6.5 million and benefit more than 700 nonprofits.
