It was the terribly awkward writing in Star Wars that made her character seem floppy (no way near as cool as Princess Leia), I think Natalie Portman did the best she could with the awful romance scenes.

Working my way through these videos at long last, but I felt I had to comment on this one simply because Lost in Translation is my favourite film of all time to watch. I could watch at any time, over and over. The performances (particularly from Murray), the interesting and refreshing take on the holiday romance/forbidden love idea, and Coppola's fantastic soundtrack, all make for a fantastic film.

"go on, ask me anything"
"ok....best shag you ever had?"
"Britney Spears"
......
"hahaha, just kidding.......she was rubbish!"
Love Actually=AWESOME. I love the intertwined stories of all the characters. The constant "countdown to christmas" thing they do makes it a movie I only really enjoy around xmas, but it's a good watch anytime :)

The Godfather (part one and two, and even 3 is okay) ROCKS!
Lock, Stock and 2 Barrels was also a great film. And I luved THE LIMEY - it was an oddly emotional film. I also have Dark City and though I luv the cinematography, I have trouble getting through the movie in one sitting. And I love ship/naval movies. You have great taste J. ;-)
Another great vid Jason!

I know you have past these letter already, but check out Boiler Room, and how can you pass the Fith Element or Conan? Those are great films. Boiler Room is a fantastic drama and I really think you would like the movie.

I'll mention this in an upcoming vlog, but this binder only represents about 1/3 of my DVDs, and only about 1/5 of my overall movie collection when you add in laserdiscs.
The first Conan is a great film! I've heard they might try to remake it, but I hope they don't. No one can top AHnuld in that flick!
I saw Boiler Room - decent flick. Vin Diesel doing his best Alec Baldwin from Glengarry Glen Ross impersonation.

I've never been much interested in a movie's preconditions, like who wrote it or who directed it. Usually I watch anything and everything and if I like it... well, then I like it, so of what importance is a director? :-)
What might deter me is the acting cast, but the only one I really dislike is Tom Cruise, so there's only a fraction of films I'm biased against.

I'll assume you're being a wee bit facetious with the directors remark. :)
I used to see just about anything. In my 20s, I routinely went to see about 100 movies a year at the theater - or about 2 per week, plus many more on video/dvd.
But as I grow older, I've become more discriminating with my time, and certain genres (such as the recent trend in horror of torture porn) hold little interest for me.
