A sonata basically is a duet with a piano and another instrument (with viola and violin, anyway).
That's why my teacher gets me to play sonatas with music.

Great work and performance. Stamitz' sonata surely deserves to be performed more often. After all there are not that many solo works for viola. In a way this is more like a duet than an accompanied sonata.
