Thx for this good tutorial. I was just searching for a way to create a custom transition that i had in mind and couldn't figure out myself how to do it.

The ones shaped like boats and fish and not just circles.

@spikeygreg The fish (wipe #2) I drew using Marquee's pen tool and animated them in the Marquee timeline (just like I did the circles in wipe #1). The ship in wipe #3 is a character a font which I resized over time to cover the outgoing shot. I am sorry I cannot remember the font this came from. I went looking for it but could not find it! The boats in wipe #4 are characters from the Webdings font which I also resized to various sizes and animated to cover the screen, Hope this helps.
