Our kids are crushed by debt and they didn't go on a shopping spree - they got an education. America ought to be investing in education and building a future for our kids. A) not the one who is 'hearing what I want', I am the one giving facts. and B) as I stated before and you so cleverly ignored, I am not a democrat. So who is ignoring what? I also said nothing about getting rid of the military, just that we do not need to spend more on it than the next 36 countries combined. the main problem with military spending is that so much of that money goes to private companies, and not the military, and that costs a lot more than if they did things themselves.

No, we should want every member of our society to get the best possible education they can, no matter what their income levels are. "Who's against Education?" the Republican party, the churches, putting fiction in textbooks. Because an uneducated public is easier to control. We are more than happy to spend more than the next 36 highest spending nations combined on military, but not to educate our young... Just sad. Priorities, get some.
