Installing rEFIt on a Mac

rEFIt Website: http://refit.sourceforge.net/

To manually install as shown in video:

Step 1: move the "efi" folder in the rEFIt disk image to your hard drive

Step 2: Open up a Terminal window

Step 3: type "cd " and drag the "refit" folder from inside the "efi" folder
(on most mac's should be /efi/refit)

Step 4: Then type, "./enable.sh", type admin password and reboot

Enjoy

To uninstall "rEFIt" simply delete the "efi" folder and reboot...

@333kevster at the time, i don't think lion was out but if you look at the rEFIt website, their newest version is compatible with lion

@antman872 they don't state it is, nor do they need to, they simply say it is compatible with intel based macs.... rEFIt does not run on the OS, so it doesn't need to be compatible with the OS simply the EFI that the mac contains... any intel based mac has the version of EFI that rEFIt requires. [EFI is similar to BIOS for PC]

Idk if it was luck or the hand of the base gods, but somehow after watching this video refit decided to install correctly and actually show up. I literally did nothing different, but it worked. So... thanks I guess? haha

FYI - you have to reboot TWICE before rEFIt shows up.
