I don't see the problem. It's an historic event. Nobody thinks twice about playing ww2 games. I just look at it as a very thematic game. I'm mature enough to know that it's not the intention of the designer or the publisher to offend relatives of those who's lives were lost in the disaster. Nice review btw.

I play tons of WW2 games and I agree with you. That being said there is still something unsettling about playing a game about life and death with pieces that represent the real people that were there, especially kids. It could just be me.

Excellent overview of the game. Looks like fun but I do agree, it can be tough to play as non-fictional individuals who might die. War games are rather abstract and monster games are fantasy but this seem like it could very well strike a personal note with some players. great review!

Good discussion. I don't know where the line is but there is one out there. There is the game/psychological experiment where it turned out the game was about being very efficient at the Holocaust of the Jews. Once the players figured out what they were doing they stopped playing and were upset, especially the ones that were winning.

Don't mistake me, this game isn't anywhere close to any of that, not even in the same world. It's a great game, it just flicked me in the head a couple times.

Games can allow us a glimpse into historical events, and putting a human face to the tragedy of the Titanic is actually a good thing. I can't see it any different than watching a movie about it, which is far more realistic. Of course there are some people that become "offended" by most anything-probably the same type of people who are ready to sue people for anything!

Plus, I've also played countless war games and never felt any problem playing as the Germans, Japanese, evil alien empire, etc.
