  • Actually, this is the bigger brother to an octave mandolin. The cittern has 5 double courses, for a total of 10 strings. It's tuned GG DD AA EE AA, like an OM with an extra set of higher A strings.

  • with the first few notes of your beautiful sounding instrument I was taken away to somewhere nice and peaceful where I want to be always.

  • Lovely familure tune and well played.

  • thanks! and thanks for playing it slow! Next time, three times through.

    Nicely played

  • Lovely Carolan tune. Keep going!

  • Very nice indeed!

  • Legend

  • Barbara... just got my long-neck cittern from Bill (Petersen) and it is knocking my socks off!

IT makes my OM sound thin and un-interesting.

I'll have to really build up some new muscles to play this -as it really takes some power to push those strings all down in chords. Hugs from another happy Petersen customer!

  • Oh, nice tone on this one too.

  • Very nice! Do you have the tabs, by any chance?
