What an awesome garden. Have you ever tried to grow blueberries, here in the desert? I would love to try, if I have a chance of the heat not killing them. Is there a variety that will work here? Thanks!

Unfortunately, no update on this garden, she's long gone. Going to start a smaller garden though so we'll see it it's update worthy. Wheelori, good luck with your first garden! As for the soil, I used horse manure but really any kind of manure should work just fine. The main problem I had with the soil was it's low permeability, it was very high in clay and silt and it was hard to get the soil to absorb any water. And I am located in Tucson. Thanks for the comments.
