Riding Amtrak Surfliner #775 from San Diego to Los Angeles on 9/14/11

I took a ride on Amtrak's Surfliner Train on Wednesday, September 14th 2011. I rode from San Diego to Los Angeles aboard Amtrak #775. I sat up front in the cabcar for the journey north. The cabcar leading our train was #6908 which has a pretty decent K5LA horn!! The engineer was good with it too, blowing it loud and often. Our locomotive was F59PHI #450.

There was a service disruption on this train due to bridge maintenance past Ventura. Its final stop today will be Ventura, instead of the usual San Luis Obispo. We arrived a few minutes early into my final destination station of Los Angeles, Ca.

Enjoy the ride and sounds from inside Cabcar #6908 as it travels to Los Angeles. Also, notice AMTK 184, the Phase IV Heritage unit sitting in the 8th Street Yard. It will lead the Southwest Chief tonight.

@kearthfan101 At what point in the video did you hear his voice? I heard a lot of radio chatter the whole ride up, but it sounded like other engineers talking. Can you tell me the minute mark...
