I agree but you also have to realize all of the "I compete in texas" people are truly masters at their instruments, most teaching prestigious programs in colleges. I am sure most did not spend months practicing before recording such as everyone trying out for all-state did ;)

Well honestly if I would've only seen this video I would've thought he was good but nothing special, then again this is only a demo.However, if you listen to his cd A Tribute to the Masters, you'll be blown away!!!! His 'Round Midnight track is probably my favorite recording period!

yeah i have lost a lot of the cockiness i had. the problem i think that happened was everyone took my comments as cockiness, and they really weren't aimed that way. im trying to give myself the confidence im gonna need for saturday to make state. i know i can do it, now i just have to prove to everyone else that i can. i am much better than the Dm showed. and ill prove it in a non cocky way. ill put a video up sometime this week, i would have done it today, but i overpracticed. so watch for it.

its fine dude, as long as you lose the cockiness. i never made state dude. 1 chair from area EVERY YEAR. the top 6 were in my grade and 4 of them were all staters. every fucking year, since i was a freshman. so i was cocky in middle school. and then those 6 jerks made me lose the cockiness. im doing you a favor dude.

if i didnt say in that comment up there, my ego is gone. and again it was probably the video that took away from his tone. idk. it might be my computer speakers. i know my tone probably doesnt beat his in real life. my video will be up tomorrow night. and i do wait to hear the criticism, i just hope its not so harsh that i cant learn from it. (which is why im going to tech)

ahh i cant wait to critique. This is RON WILKINS KID professor of trombone at UTSA and principal trombone of the MID TEXAS SYMPHONY. You are not either and I HIGHLY DOUBT your tone clarity matches his, especially from your D minor etude which has been removed. Good thing too, i was going to show my roommates here at UNT and let them them criticize your poor playing.

again i need to apologize here. this is a very good recording. there are small things that i believe after all my practicing that i've finally gotten a little better. the only thing i need real work on is my slur 2 tongue 2. my dynamics, tone, and tempo edge this one out a little bit. im gonna put videos up this week, and you'll see what i mean.
