The guy on Beltoise's right is Tony Southgate, then chief designer at BRM. He was responsible for this car (PI60) and its predecessor, the P153.

Sorry to be a nitpicker, nobango, but that's a Surtees not a Ferrari. But funny though. :-)
BTW, Jean-Pierre Beltoise's body-language speaks volumes!
Yeah, apart from the reigning World Champion and his team-mate, the numbers were just out-of-the-hat I think. They became assigned on a yearly basis sometime in the late '70's I think it was. Can anyone remember when?
