not a very strong flute section

were doing this song this year. but were doing a completely different drill. i like this htough it's cool. but the coolest were the clarinets/Alto Saxophones because i play both and piano and trying to learn trumpet.

Ive posted a video response to this, It is a video of my senior year marching band, We played this same piece and i'd like you to hear it, We both played it around the same time of year i believe.

Carolina Crown drum and bugle corp did "Chess and the Art of Strategy" in 1996. First year we made 10th place in DCI finals. Of course, that was in the stone ages so I have not found a version on the web yet and I lost my (gasp) tape.

I played the same show this year! We had around 90 sets in our show, it was intense! Needless to say...we were all in great shape afterwards.

damn the pit is just goin! i like it yeah my hs is doing this piece right now i have the tuba part thank god its so easy compared to everything else

But we called it Strategy well thats what the shirts said and whatnot but the band students still called it Chess

you guys cut out the flute runs :/...thats my fav. part cuz its real challenging and we're playing it this year too :D
this bands really good tho marching and general effects were probably superior but i wish they kept the runs in the final movement

We are doing the same show, but as written...i see you guys added stuff and took stuff out...sounds nice...a couple tuning issues here and there but otherwise, really good!...are you guys by any chance competing in Bands of America here in Las Vegas??
