trends aren't a good way to determine what game is better.

WoW wasn't groundbreaking. EQ was.

EQ was the first 3d MMO and almost every feature in WoW was seen in one form or another in EQ.

So EQ in my opinion contrary to yours, is better on the basis of originality and ingenuity. It was made on technology that stretched the limits, whereas WoW was conveniently made after 6-7 others had already preceded it. so gg

EQ was EPIC, up until they started putting in teleports everywhere and once that damn bazaar hit. Before all that, it was an awesome game that actually had amazing LORE and followed it until they had to put in more LORE. I would literally zone out and feel like I was in the game.

EQ = a pure 100% fantasy based MMORPG. WoW is not that, it didn't have the dragons, mountain giants, etc etc based on fantasy books.

@eslake yes i guess you got a point. Sorry for my original post. i didnt mean to come off sounding like a total asshole. its just i see people play these games and its their whole life, its like the real world no longer exists. Believe me I'm a big gamer myself, I play eq2 4 days a week, but I also make sure I get out and be around people in real life too.

How many people do you know- your own age- who treat football, or baseball, or some other sport as the be all and end all of existence during the season - or during the final games of the season?

How is that any different than someone being interviewed About their gaming experience to respond in a similar tone?

And then there are those who DO live the game, because for whatever reason(s) they can't take active part in a normal life. (disabled)

I hope I don't sound rude here, but I used to play MMO's a lot when I was younger. I'm 30 now and Play Everquest 2 on my free time, but I can't help but notice that these guys talk as if Everquest is their whole life. It's kind of pathetic to me. There's more to life then sitting on the computer playing eq and stuffing you're face eating Cheetos, getting fat, because you are not getting any exercise.
