@TheKimotto I'm not really advocating polyamorous relationships. Though I have no problem with them. I haven't seen any studies associating them with emotional abuse. My point in bringing that up as an option is to put the decision to leave the relationship into perspective. Most people aren't open for the idea of a polyamorous relationship. if they compare leaving the relationship to being in a poly relationship, it makes the decision to leave easier.

@Femigaytheist there are but few studies out there. but i'm talking about people's perception. a lot of n-somes are a result of cheating or have a party who is harmed in some other way. such examples of polyamory are dominant in our culture. this makes it difficult to imagine that polyamorous relationships can be stable and beneficial. from personal experience, a consensual threesome is more like entering a commune than getting married. only good if everyone is friends and respects eachother
