I've been researching how fabric was made in medieval times for a graphic novel i'm making, and it led me to this vid. Man, talk about patience. I don't think I was made to do this for a living. At the same time I imagine that weaving on a loom might be theraputic.
Maybe you can help me. I've been to a few sites that mentioned that they did have looms back then? do you know if there were any other ways fabrics were made in the middle ages? talking about the 11th 12th century age
G'day.. Yep, lotsa weaving going on thru the ages. The Egyptians did some incredible works using whorls and ground looms. Also monks weaving their blankets with warp weighted looms is a good head spin. Even the vikings with their sails made from strips. The more you look the more you find. Weaving is addictive... especially when you take it it tablet form.
Excellent video! This one & the last one, both my Mother & I weave on Looms. I have one like this one & she has a Baby Wolf Loom. Again Excellent Video!
