Sue Bird and Swin Cash reflect on the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, and what playing for Team USA means to them.
Normally, the Seattle Storm's last home game of the regular season is reserved for a celebration of the support provided by fans all year long. This year, because of fortuitous scheduling, that same concept of appreciation was extended to the community far beyond the walls of KeyArena.
Playing on the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the Storm used Sunday's game against the Chicago Sky to thank the groups most affected by the events of 9/11 - both the police officers and fire fighters whose colleagues responded on the scene and our armed forces, who have worked over the last decade to preserve the freedoms threatened by terrorism.
