@cadnyc well, my audio-technica's don't need the additional power, they're so low impedance, so it's not really useful for me on those particular headphones we used, but it is on others.

@droptheleash0 I know this is super late and all.. but the PA2V2 is a portable amplifier obviously, I don't use it in the house, it's good for getting past the impedance battle between your headphones and your source, but I wouldn't say it does much for the sound, maybe I'm just used to it though. I've got an Audio-GD Compass Dac/Amp/Pre-Amp for my home listening via optical on my desktop, really like it.

lol. I love being in public with stuff like this. People say "What's that" and you kindly explain how it's a headphone amp and they look at you with a "are you insane?" type look. Once a person called my HD580s "ghetto" probably because they didn't look "flashy".
