  • OMFG, snakes should have their own "snake food" not mice or rats or that stuff. its cruel to them, i would never have a snake do that nor will i eve have a snake but thats not the point. its soooo sad watching the little mouse getting eaten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I get sad too, but that's what they eat, it's nature, and it happens in the wild.

  • you should post new vids of your snake

  • I have the one of her attacking the mouse. I just fed her today, but there's nothing to really show...haha. I'll see what I can do for you. I haven't posted any vids for a while.

  • Well I've had this snake for a few months now (maybe 4-5?), but before that I've had garter snakes (they only ate fish). Right now Zeeba is in a 20 gallon tall tank. And I also have a 60 gallon tank waiting for her. It is also glass.Humidity isn't really a big deal unless she's shedding. I would just go with some wood chips. It's the best for her, she won't eat it, and if she does, it's digestable, and she won't get tangled in it :)

  • i think ill just have feed her female rats and stick to them until she gets up to rabbits. but i can do anything now she is in the middle of shedding.when did you get your snake? do you already have the tank for when your snake is full grown?and one more question does moss keep the humidity level high in the tank?

  • Maybe just get live rats and break their neck before you feed it to her....dangle it in her face so she thinks it's alive? I totally understand you don't want her to get scratched or anything...I'm nervous about it too for when she gets older.

But either way, you can try and try to feed her the same thing...she's going to have to eat one day or another, so she will soon take it.

  • i know how to feed snakes frozen mice. i use to own two florida kingsnakes and i feed those live and frozen but i started off feeding my red tail frozen when i first got her she ate them for about 2 months the she wouldnt even try to go after them after that so i switched her to live and she doesnt hesitate not even for a second going after live. but now that she is up to rats i would like to feed her frozen so she wont get injured.

  • I'm also new to it as well. Go to your reptile store where you get your food, and they'll help you out. :)

As for the frozen rat, put it in a bag and put the bag in boiling water. The rat has to be warm for the snake to eat it. That might be the reason she isn't eating. But DO NOT put the rat in the microwave....no bueno. haha.

  • i was thinking about buying a 260 gallon Reptarium it is a hell of a lot cheaper than ones made out of Acrylic and i was wondering how hard would it be to maintain the temp?i would really appreciate your help
