Mike and Luke Handy are twin brothers who have grown up diving and surfing the waves of Big Sur, California.
Their parents fell in love with Big Sur on their honeymoon and later bought a piece of land overlooking the surf
where they have built the eco-friendly Treebones Resort. Mike is studying environmental architecture
and Luke is a film student, but when they are home in Big Sur they volunteer as firefighters and rescue responders,
ride wild mustangs they tamed from the nearby hillside, and hit the waves as often as they can. John Handy,
their dad, says the family's goal in creating their extraordinary life in Big Sur is to "perch lightly on the land."
