A song written by Kerry Livgren and Steve Walsh
Artist: Kansas
Album: Leftoverture
Year: 1976

Lyrics:

When the sun is in the mid sky, he wears a golden crown
And he soaks the world with sunshine as he makes another round
It's been a faster year than yesterday, all the things that I had planned
And when I think I might be gaining
I'm in the sunshine once again
Well I walk the road of life among the strong, among the weak
And I ask them for the shortcut to the answers that I seek
But it seems nobody understands what is and what will be
Oh, the questions of my childhood weave a web of mystery
Can you get me through these changes?
Well I sure don't know about life, but one thing for sure
All I need is you babe, we got to get the golden key to unlock the door
I don't need to face a world of disillusion
I've come to one conclusion that I know you know is true
In the game of silent searching the cost of love is rising
And I'm just now realizing I'd be better of with you
It's a game that I've been living, now
I need to know what's real
Can you help me find the answers, can you tell the way I feel?
Will you stay with me forever, just stay with me tonight
And we can talk about tomorrow if it all works out alright

  • The radio stations and dj's knew that they couldn't play very much Kansas on the air because they simply made all the other acts sound second rate. These are good musicians who are in the peak of their careers and have worked very hard to be where they were and are today. This album will be listened to until the very end of time.

  • Leftoverture is a must have album(CD).

  • I'm not much of a lyrics person, I listen for the music...with the exception of Rush and these guys.. which have both extravagant backing music going on as well as very poetic, emotional lyrics. This song and album are killer...I don't know what kind of piano or what means of recording techniques they used but that sounds sooo great, and of course the trippy synths and superb vocals make this album really shine

  • @heapbigtalk tape a guitar pick to the end of that thing. that just might be metal enough to work \m/

  • i have this lovely vinyl ~ the needle broke ~ won't play my records ~

  • @barbsmusicman And Asia and Toto as well.

  • A true masterpiece record. I bought the vinyl about a week after it was released, and played all of both sides hundreds of times in the following year. This is in me forever.

  • Leftoverture sounds like a greatest hits album doesnt it? Back when music was album oriented.

  • does the intro remind anyone else of sonic the hedghog, or is it just me?

  • I've been going through videos and have got to say this is the way to do it, great job Panosc2, clean clear audio, album and group info, lyrics. Some need to take notes on how and what to post....

  • @bunkerrr5 Stop comparing two great bands.

  • This album is sheer quality.
