コンテンポラリーダンスとアートが融合したパクストンの身体の思想、ここに紹介

アメリカ・ポスト・モダンダンスを代表するダンサー／振付家であり、コンタクト・インプロヴィゼーションの創始者でもあるスティーヴ・パクストン。本展では、YCAMがこ­れまで培ってきたメディアテクノロジーを応用した身体表現のノウハウと、現在のコンテンポラリーダンスのシーンに多大な影響を与えるパクストンのメソッドとが融合した、ハ­イクオリティな映像インスタレーションを発表。この作品を通じて、身体／空間表現の現在形と、パクストンの哲学、そして身体の思想を紹介した。

Introducing Paxton's body philosophy reinterpreting the frameworks of various physical sensation and action in a fusion of contemporary dance and art.

Dancer/choreographer Steve Paxton, a leading figure in American post-modern dance, and initiator of the contact improvisation method, showed a high-quality video installation juxtaposing know-how related to media technology-based physical expression cultivated at YCAM, and Paxton's original method that continues to exert significant influence on the current contemporary dance scene. The work served as an introduction to Paxton's body philosophy and the present state of physical/spatial expression in general.
