A man's appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court on charges under the Health and Safety Act in connection with the death of a fourteen year old Army Cadet. George McCallum was the Army Major in charge of the exercise on a Western Isles loch in August 2007 during which Kayleigh McIntosh drowned. In other news: The detective leading the probe into the death of a Carnoustie man says he's certain someone in the local community holds the key to crucial information; A Perth woman who sparked a major search for a missing toddler has been jailed for nine weeks for wasting police time. In sport: Aberdeen WON'T be contesting the two-match ban offered to Peter Pawlett for SIMULATION against Hibs. Craig Brown says it would be a waste of time, and money, after referee Craig Thomson admitted getting the penalty call wrong. This is an international version of the news that may have been edited for rights reasons.
