  • where was this game played?

  • Bellerieve Oval in Hobart. It's had plenty of refurbishment and renovation since then.

  • BTW, any H/L's of this inning are in-complete without replays of those decision of Umpire in favor of Langer...They did create history, But not without little help from umpires

  • I'm also surprised this wasn't in this vid either.

  • oh yeh, it was australians cheating, and only cheating, that made them win the match. never mind that two batsmen went out there in probably the hardest situation in a test match, and made the 3rd highest run chase almost single-handedly.

oh yeh, it was cheating that hit those huge cover-drives off akhtar, and it was cheating that smashed saqlain to all corners of hobart.

yeh they might have had some luck, but give them the credit they deserve u prick!

  • I am an Indian and I do have my share differences with pak teams, but your argument tells me that you agree there were some irregularities in the umpiring, is it?

  • @pssabu09 : As I said, I was praying Pak to lose this game, as India was due to tour Aus next, and did not want India under any kind of pressure to win for obvious comparisons with Pak's performance. But I certainly didn't expect this from the umpires. Pakistan should have won this game hands-down....if not for the umpire(s). I clearly remember some blunders. I just hope people will remember this game for its umpiring blunders whenever they see a video or score card of this match.

  • @pssabu09: We all know how good Aus team is...or was in those days. But that does not mean they will everything...if not, why any contest. That's the beauty of any sport. This mach certainly left a bad impression on me.

  • @mrsubirsharma Gilly is better that Virendra Sehwag

  • @anreddy9 When somebody plays well it is cheating. When Pakistan and India play well it is talent LOL

  • @skacaulkie I was there watching it on ESPN. It was tremendous batting Langer and Gilly. It was Gilly showing what a tremendous player he is for the first time. There was absolutely no cheating. Saqlains Doosra was a mystery ball then. Also worlds fastest bowler(LOL) shoib akthar waste was playing. But Gilly played him like he was some school boy bowling fulltoses with a rubber bal,

  • The bowl that got M.Waugh out was a beauty!

  • I remember this match, Australian umpires cheated as many as 5 decision clearly out.

  • I will remember this test for the rest of my life.Pakistanis were literally robbed .The bowlers bowled exceptionally well and yet were not rewarded.

  • Bunch a cheat players with their cheat umpires. This dishonesty and utter lack of sportsmanship is biting them in their asses with Aussie XI (prick XI) turning into an ordinary team. You know what, the downfall has just started. It's gonna be worse than what West Indies are today.

  • this match was robbed from Pakistan. It was the finest team we ever sent to Aus. :(

Langer later admitted he was caught behind but didnt walk. Gilchrist was plumb LBW but umpire said NO :@.

..and the 'Greatest' aussie team went on to win consecutive test matches.

what made me furious though, was the attitude of Pak team in the 3rd Test. They just threw it. Maybe becuz they were bitter.

In my books, this series and Pak vs West Indies (i think in 1998 or so) were the worst i ever saw.
