this is my fav. animated film and i showed it to my bro who likes that crappy modern anime and he didn't like it!!! i was so pissed! how can you like anime and not like akira!??!! i don't even like anime and i love it! the comics are epic too...as said before, a lot more is explained

Actually, the action in this is absolutely well polished and superb, to this day Akira is one of the most painstakingly animated films to come out of Japan.

I disagree, I think this movie has a little more confusing story line than the comic book, but the action is in my opinion superb, it doesn't glitter, it has no smooth edges, and is not made by a computer, and it gets the job done.

i like story line and action.This movie has good stoy line but has bad action and some scenes were unessesary some things should change in the live action movie

Um,this film contains some blood scenes, and if theres one thing that stands between me and anime, is gory scenes.
