Cyprus Village Festival. Statos - Agios Fotios, 18 September 2011

Cyprus village festivals are an opportunity to celebrate bygone times and traditions. A chance for families and communities to get together to enjoy each others company and the simple pleasures of life: music, dancing, food and wine.

Last Sunday we attended the Rural Festival at the village of Statos, about 20 mins drive north of Agia Varvara. This was the first village festival we have attended. It did not disappoint; in fact, it was a really enjoyable experience.

To us, this festival encapsulates what living in Cyprus is all about. Enjoying life to the full. Being with family and friends. Enjoying the wonderful friendship and hospitality of our Cypriot hosts. Thanks to all who made this the great event that it was.
