  • Thanks for posting your video. While I understand your point about creative writing majors getting work in other fields I would like to say that plumbing is certainly not one of them! A friend of mine is a plumber and it takes a about 4-5 years (including on on-the-job traning) to become a master plumber! I mention this because many academic types think that if their dream goes up in smoke that they can always get a manual labor gig to tide them over till they get something that's

    As far as I know, it is going to depend on how well you can network. Of course, it's going to depend heavily on whether you can write well. If you know a lot of people high up in a major publishing company and have a degree in art or writing, it isn't going to get you anywhere unless your writing is creative, unique, and intriguing.

  • Hey there. My dream is to write fiction. I have an associate degree in arts, and I was wondering if that would be enough to get myself taken seriously by publishers, etc. I consider myself a good writer, and it's something I love to do. I love to create stories. I guess I'm just wondering if someone has talent, and is determined to make it do they need to have a special degree?
