10 mile tempo workout 2 weeks before Olympic Marathon Trials with teammate Brian Ball. Thanks to Johnny D pacing on bike and coach Bob Larsen helps with splits.

  • i wish i was born in Africa...people that were born to run.

  • I love to watch these guys before i go run. I always go out at like five minute pace and die at the half mile mark. Then I run at the more appropriate mortal pace.

  • @Brent6434 - When I meant diet, I was referring to American vs East African Diets. My point was that these East African born Americans run well on what looks to be somewhat traditional American Diets so it may not be the massive amounts of ugali and corn porridge that makes East Africans fast.

  • @lucasboden haha wow u have no idea what a diet is. that's a common mistake but a diet is not someone trying to lose weight you can go on a low carb, calorie, etc diet or you can have a high carb, calorie, etc diet and these guys burn A LOT of calories and a pancake or a steak is what you want to eat after those long runs

  • @lucasboden Do you realise how many calories are burned for these timed trials? A pancake (especially buckwheat) is the first things these guys will reach for... Replenishing valuable fats is the name of the game.

  • @Dashir101 - It can't be diet cause Meb eats pancakes and Lagat eats Outback steaks.

  • @Dashir101 Not only them :P But the majority yeah, it's in the culture of these countries, running villages and stuff for one! And then there's simple genetics, the way their bodies are shaped naturally is good for long distance running. Once they cut their body fat so much it only gets easier surely
