What is Foley? This also shows what it was like editing sound for a 35mm feature on a Moviola.

  • Sound editing and mixing is so much easier today using a computer I can't believe I once used this lumbering machine. The music is usually mixed by the composer. Still additional volume, panning and equalization are applied to fit it in to the rest of the numerous tracks of dialogue, effects and foley.

  • @TourShack editing on a computer might be easier but it lacks the soul of working with real film.

  • I heard that during the mix you mix every single track except the music score when do you add the music score?

  • Use to? some major editors still goes through this process, and claims its quicker than cutting on an avid.

  • Great demonstration!

Your example shows how much work editing sound for film used to be.
