Shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, Baltimore County First Batallion units were dispatched to Fire Box 1-17, reporting a fire on the 2nd floor of a building at 28 West Pennsylvania Avenue in the heart of Towson. First arriving BCoFD Engine 1 (Towson career) reported heavy fire showing from a 2.5 story former residential structure that now housed the Adolph & Kalkstein Chiropratic office. Command quickly requested a Working Fire Dispatch due to heavy fire conditions and exposure problems - including Gamberdella's bridal shop, which sustained damage in the fire. A 2nd alarm was struck soon thereafter, bringing additional resources to the fireground.

  • Dr. Kalkstein has opened a temporary office next door. Please visit their website for additional information.

  • I installed the awning on this building about 2 yrs ago. Im sorry to see this happen to them. Very nice people. They bought me and my helper lunch and were very happy with our work. It sucks this happened to them but insurance will cover it. great vid......as well as the rest of firepix vids. Keep em coming!

  • @firestorm If you want to be a news reporter then so be it. But don't cloak youself in firefighter garb during an active scene then start rolling footage. That's how squirrelly you firefighters are! You do it to show off and not for the sake of journalism. Get real. Maybe one day, when you're house is fully ablaze and you watch your life go up in ruins, you'll gain a new appreciation and some insight into the definition of appropriateness.

  • @fedupwyos

I can not believe you. This guy is a well respected video/photographer. All of the pictures that made the local news were ones he took. Without people like him a lot of media sources would not have material and us firefighters wouldn't have anything to look back on. I was on this fire, it was my first working fire actually, and I am a video/photographer myself and I am glad he took this because I didn't get a chance to. So keep up the good work FirePix and ignore guys like him.

  • I saw this particular videographer. Maybe he should spend less time taking pictures of fires and more time picking up a hose to fight them! Shame on you. That was someone's livlihood.

  • WOW at 4:33 look at that waterfall lol and it was so cold last night it must have been turning to ice quick!

  • I was listening to a Baltimore City Fire Scanner last night as always, and I'm pretty sure they might have called in mutual aid on that 2nd alarm from Baltimore City. Good vid thanks for posting, it's a shame about that office though.
