Blade DeIcing using hot water and an articulate pressure boom mounted on a single engine helicopter. Ice was removed. Helicopter had 50Gal of filter clean water heated at 150degF and 30 Gal of fuel. Time for one flight, spray and land for re-fuel is around 20min. Exterior temperature during test was 15degF with winds around 22mph. Precision and safe operation was attained but delays were observed when it started to snow. The pilot had a bit of difficulty because all of its reference point was white (i.e. turbine, sky and ground/snow).
