  • Imobilizer, huh? Try doing the same WITHOUT your original key, and then you will see what it the point of the immobilizer!

  • @saby10010 Uh, the key is not programed. When I turn the key it will not start. As well, I had a key cut I got off ebay as a spare, and it starts this way as well. The immobilizer disables the starter. I put a wire from the battery to the firing contact on the starter, and it starts it. As well I called a jetta dealer about it, and they confirmed that the immobilizer only disables the starter. So what ever man.

  • Dear Video Guy, You sound like an absolute idiot in this video, I actually posted this video on fb, and gave all my friends a good laugh at your expense. You won't waste $55 to fix the key issue. But you have no problem paying for an air intake or a new starter. Nice to see you have your priorities straight.

  • @dr07828 your key is programmed, that wasn't the problem. The immobilizer doesn't disable the starter, it cuts fuel or spark. VW's will start with a key that isn't programmed, but the engine will shut off in a few seconds. I've dealt with this many times. The VW senses the key after the car is started. So if your would no start your car, it's a problem with your ignition switch or wiring, not the key.

  • ok guy's just because vw are crookers I like to let everybody know haw to reset the immobilizer step one put de key on the ignition you'll see key light flashing don't remove the key until the laight gone them turn off the key pulled out and put back the key and you car will star takes like 10min to reset the light sometimes up to two hours good loock and don't waste you money with stupid crooker dealers.

  • @bugga622 ok,I get it now.

  • @98770 No you see, your key serves two purposes...

    1) Start the computer

    2) to power your starter

All that connection does is crank the starter, if the computer doesn't have power, your car wont start. That means that you still need to put the key in your ignition and turn it to the "on" position.

  • @bugga622 one problem, wouldn't that make the vehicle prone to theft?

  • where does the wire even attach to I'm having the same issue with my car but i am going to start it so i can get to the dealer and not have my car towed but i don't know where else to attach the wire to I'm so confused lol

  • The immobilizer doesn't touch the starter circuit. If you have an immobilizer problem, the engine will fire up for a second then die and you'll have a flashing warning on the dash. If the starter isn't working off the key, it's probably the ground wire between battery -ve and the transmission mounting bolt.

  • where is that other side of the wire connected to? thanks

  • hey man im happy i ran into this video. i lost my key and i got a key cut now i have to tow the car to the dealership to program the key? yo fuck that im going to try this just to get it up there then pay to reprogram it. hope it works thank you
