Off the cuff, last minute addition to the Snakes and Arrows album, Geddy was messing about with a riff during the vocals sessions, which developed into a jam with Neil, who only had a 4-piece drum kit. On return to the studio, Alex was confronted with a new track and set about composing the guitar parts using Protools. The result was a really simple but powerful riff, which I've attempted to emulate.

  • That video's fantastic! If you were on the front of my windscreen on my driving test then I would've failed big time, haha. Whose car is that in?

  • @crownkingrichardiiii it "was" my car... was stolen off the drive about 18 months ago.... thanks for watching :)

  • OMG! this video is simply amazing snowdog! man this is sooo intense haha did you film the streets yourself?

  • @Rushworshiper92 Hi!! Yes, went out with the missus in the convertible (which has since been stolen) and she drove while I just held the camera. I imported it into sony vegas, sped it up 4 times and used Chromakey to superimpose myself on top of it while playing... Cheers dude :)

  • o.k. It's me again..

I was able to figure out the cords,,,pretty basic. Can you tell me the cord that you are playing about 2:12 into the song..on the fifth fret ! ?? I can not figure it out.

Thanks for your time! Again, cool video!

  • I'm not sure if it's 100% what AL plays but I played the following there:

    Don't play bottom E string

    Note D on A string

    mute D String

    Note D on G string

    mute B string

Note A on top E string

If you want to you can play the muted strings open to give more depth and body, but I prefer the muted version. Have a go with that and see what you think. Cheers Mike
