posting this just to show my remington 11-87 with a impulse buy tasco red dot mounted. havent used it at all other than sighting it in and took it off becuase it ruins the clean look of the 11-87. i think i should try to use it hunting next year and maybe squirrel hunting sometime. if i remember it was about 40$ but like i said it was an impulse buy. it has 5 levels or red and 5 levels of green. it comes with lense covers that i leave on all the time. the mount is pretty cool except it makes it a little hard to open the action and when you put it on it has a bolt that you screw on with a hex head and if u over tighten it it will compress the action and the slide will not go back. it seems to be pretty accurate from when i sighted it in but i havent shot with it a lot.

  • is the redot scope good?

  • @donkyballs2 yes it is but i ended up taking it off the shotgun, it just doesnt fit the gun (at least for me) check out the update video i did a while back about it.

  • how has this red dot held up? im debating using a red dot/hologrpahic siht or just iron sights. maily becaue I shoot slugs

  • @Sporkinator3 it really depends on what your setup is.if you have a shotgun with a regular barrel and dont want to get a cantilever barrel then id say i wouldnt recommend it. on this setup i have to sight it in every time i go out because i can move the mount around just by pushing on the scope. it goes back to near zero but i just dont like my scope moving around, this is what you will deal with with a plastic mount like this. for a cantilever barrel yes, but sights are superior in most cases

  • @mxf7010g8k Hello, I have the remington 870 tactical with 7-shot and bead sight (conventional stock). I was wondering if I should get my shotgun drilled and tapped, or go with a side saddle rail system that sits in the same place...do you think the bead sight, or a barska 1x 42 red dot sight. thank you.

  • @Spillah21 well if you want it to be really "tactical" you should go with the red dot. if you could find a aluminum or steel side mount id go with that if not you could get it drilled, but decide what you want to do with it before you make sure you want the red dot.
